August 21, 2021 @ 2:00 pm August 22, 2021 @ 12:00 pm EDT

The Connecticut Estonian Society, in collaboration with the local Latvian and Lithuanian communities invite you to a heartfelt celebration of the three Baltic nations´ hard-won restoration of independence. August 20, 1991 marks 30 years since the Republic of Estonia had officially restored its independence from the Soviet occupiers. While times of freedom seems to fly more quickly than otehrwise, we must never forget that our freedom is not to be taken for granted, and that our communities here in the United States must also continue to uphold beloved traditions, factual accounts of history, preserve and foster our cultures here in the United States, and work together for our common security. And so, together we celebrate our statehoods as peoples of three independent nations on the coast of the Baltic Sea.

Please join us for a great party, featuring traditional and modern notes, including a traditional village-style party, guest speakers, picnic, pig roast, professional performers, group singalongs, cultural performances, craft stations, volleyball, games for the children, campfire and campfire activities, and a wonderful afternoon and evening in nature with family and friends. Bring your own coolers, chairs and a change of clothes for a cooler evening. Tenting is permitted.
