Estonian American National Council, Board & Staff

EANC XXIII Council

The Estonian American National Council (EANC) / Eesti Rahvuskomitee Ühendriikides (ERKÜ) is the central organization of Estonians in the United States. Our council is a nationally elected body – its twofold mission is to be a voice and advocate for Estonian American interests, and to support Estonian culture through grant funding and shining a spotlight on cultural projects.

EANC was created in the wake of the post-WWII refugee arrivals and has worked to serve Estonian Americans to this day, whenever they arrived. During the decades of Soviet occupation, Estonian Americans worked tirelessly to keep Estonia’s cause visible in Washington and beyond – a tradition of advocacy that the Council continues today in support of a free and democratic Estonia. This two-fold mission is uniquely EANC (ERKÜ).

Our council members are elected to a four-year term. The Council meets in person at least once a year, usually in autumn, to review past activities and to vote on the upcoming year´s budget and activity plan. There are numerous committees and working groups on which to be active.
