International Conference and Commemorations: The Mass Flight of 1944

In commemoration of the Great Refugee Flight to the West (in 1944), the Seminar Series “I Do Not Want to Leave, but I Cannot Stay” presented the international conference Mass Flight of 1944 at Estonia’s Parliament on September 19th in commemoration of the anniversary of the Great Refugee Flight to the West (1944).
Thank you to the organizers as well EANC council members Kristi Vuht Allpere and Jaak Rakfeldt, who presented at this important event.

The conference was followed by the premiere of the performance “Pagulusse” (“Into Exile”).

Based on the memoirs of EANC Visnapuu Award for Arts and Letters author Elin Toona, performed by students of the 32nd High School and the ensemble “Estonian Folks.” Advisor: Eva Kalbus.
