Baltic Way Commemoration – Seattle

August 23 @ 1:00 pm 5:00 pm America/Seattle

🇪🇪🇱🇻🇱🇹 Join us in Seattle to commemorate the Baltic Way!

On August 23, 1989, approximately two million Estonians, Latvians, and Lithuanians joined hands, forming a 675 km human chain from Tallinn through Riga to Vilnius. The Baltic Way became an unforgettable symbol of unity, courage, and the Baltic nations’ determination to regain their freedom.

On Sunday, August 23, Seattle’s Estonian, Latvian, and Lithuanian communities will come together to honor this historic day — and everyone is welcome to join us!

📍 Drumheller Fountain, University of Washington

1:00 PM – Gather at the fountain

1:15 PM – Group photo

Afterwards, we’ll walk together to Mary Gates Hall for a short talk and refreshments.

🅿️ Parking is free on the UW Seattle campus on Sundays. Central Plaza Garage (1320 NE Campus Pkwy) is a convenient nearby option.

Bring your family and friends and join us in remembering the Baltic Way — a powerful symbol of unity and freedom. 💙🖤🤍❤️🤍❤️💛💚❤️
