As we prepare for Estonian Independence Day, sing along to this lovely arrangement of the muc

Kristi Roosmaa introduces (in Estonian) this fun video project. https://youtu.be/IZ-hKGBl-Is

h loved song Maa tuleb täita lastega. The musical track and vocal to sing by is attached below. Videos must be submitted no later than Feb. 21st.

Please be sure that whoever is leading the singing on your video is wearing headphones so that you can record in such a way that we see and hear only your voices in the recording – not the base track.

The video concept is one of togetherness and joy, as we continue to share and pass along our Estonian culture and heritage

for generations to come. Just as our forefathers and older generations have kept strong Estonian culture and traditions, we, too, will do our best to keep the Estonian spirit and community together, vibrant and strong. Many thanks to Kristi Roosmaa, Johanna Telander

and The VL Studios for their work on this exciting project.

We hope this is an uplifting nod to the future, as it celebrates raising our Estonian community as a whole and looks forward with continued hope and togetherness. We welcome and need all of your participation.

A quick video introduction to the project: https://youtu.be/IZ-hKGBl-Is

Participating is simple and fun:

Just sing!  The making of this video is meant to be welcoming, inclusive and fun.

Record yourself, your family member, Estonian school teacher, friends, etc. as you and they sing along to this beautiful version of the Estonian favorite Maa tuleb täita lastega. Video footage of you, your children, grandparents, community members  at home or in the Estonian community are welcomed.

You may record just one section of the song, or the whole song.

While recording, listen to the track in your head-phones ; only your performance (not the base track) should be heard on the recording you send us. Your video and face will be added to the many others.

Take a few sample shots to make sure your lighting is good, the picture is clear, and the background isn´t too cluttered. Sitting, standing, walking, swaying, dancing, playing (with toys or on a play instrument), inside, outside, all are fine as long as we can hear and see you clearly.

Dress comfortably and appropriately, keeping in mind this is a celebration of Estonian culture and will be seen by all ages. Estonian folk motifs and national dress elements welcome but not necessary.

Video came out great but sound got messed up? Send in your video anyway, and we might be able to incorporate the images anyway.

If you have some fun or sweet candid photos or video clips taken in the making of this project, you are welcome to send those as well.

Be sure to include your name, email address, town and state. 🙂
