Meet Estonian Graphic Novelist Joonas Sildre in the U.S.

From September 10–20, Estonian comic artist, illustrator, and graphic designer Joonas Sildre visits the United States for the first time to introduce his multi-award-winning graphic novel Between Two Sounds (Plough Publishing), marking the 90th birthday of composer Arvo Pärt ( 09.11.1935)

Between Two Sounds is based on years of research and close collaboration with Arvo Pärt, tracing the composer’s journey from his birth in 1935 through his emigration in 1980. The book has earned top honors in the U.S. and internationally including 2025 Independent Publisher Book Awards (IPPY) – Gold Medal, Graphic Novel and 2025 IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award – Gold Medal, Graphic Novel.
