COVID-19 & Estonia: Latest News & Government Advisories
(EANC, March 16, 2020; An Important Message)
As communities and countries around the world take extreme measures to fight the coronavirus pandemic, so, too, does the Republic of Estonia as do the many Estonian communities abroad. Here in the United States, we are also faced with the hard decisions of postponing or even cancelling long-anticipated events, celebrations, annual meetings, exhibits, trips, choir rehearsals, Estonian school days, church services and more. These disappointments pale in the context of the importance of the health and wellbeing of our community members and neighborhoods.
The Estonian American National Council encourages everyone to follow the directives set forth by their respective governments and health authorities. Swift action, patience and care, and information are paramount. United, we are stronger – and in acting responsibly we can be an asset not a liability in these trying times. EANC will do our best to provide relevant links and reliable information regarding Estonia and Estonian interests during this crisis. Your first resource when travelling abroad should be the Embassy of your country of residence.
EANC will try to be of assistance by posting notifications shared by the Estonian Embassy in Washington, DC and by the government authorities of the Republic of Estonia on our Facebook site and you can also connect to them through our website (www.estosite.org).
