DESCRIPTION:The NY Estonian Community invites you to join them for a celebration of the restoration of Estonian Independence. EANC is proud to be a sponsor of the documentary film projects by Estonian youth to be debuted here.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for a special afternoon celebrating the anniversary of the Restoration of Estonian Independence\, as the young voices of the New York Estonian School guide us on a journey through time. \n\n\n\nExperience a series of short documentaries—created and produced by the NY Estonian School Youth Club—based on interviews\, memories\, and rare archival footage. These films beautifully capture the inspiring history of the school\, built on community\, tradition\, and heart. A Q&A session will follow. \n\n\n\nAt 3:30 PM – Join our Estonian Folk Dance Workshop\, led by David Truusa and accompanied by Kertu-Liis Õnnis on accordion.  \n\n\n\n\nPlease RSVP here by Aug 20 \n\n\n\n\nBar and kitchen open 12-6pm.

DESCRIPTION:This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Connecticut Estonian Society\, and while they plan an appropriate celebratory bash (date TBD)\, the hazy days of August are just the right opportunity to enjoy a casual day picnicing and catching up with fellow Estonians\, firends new and old. Please join us\, and help keep our activities abuzz and enlightened with opportunity for the new generation of Estonian Americans\, whose memory banks are just being opened!  \n\n\n\nWe look forward to seeing you!  \n\n\n\nReach out to leenakangro@yahoo.com\, if you would like to coordinate a dish for the picnic buffet! \n\n\n\nBYOB\, campchairs\, songbooks guitar\, games\, sports equipment\, memorabilia\, whatever you would like! The day will also offer a look back to the this summer’s extraordinary Song and Dance Festivals! \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWe encourage Estonians and supporters to also attend the the Batic Way (Baltikett) anniversary event at noon on August 24\, at the Pond House Cafe in Elizabeth Park \, 1555 Asylum AvenueWest Hartford\, CT 06117.  Wear your Estonian colors\, folk costumes\, bring your flags! Let’s bring worthy attention and awareness to Estonia and Baltic security issues while comemmorating the peaceful demonstration demanding freedom – a human chain from Tallinn to Vilnius. We must continue to support Ukraine with aid\, military support and moral backing in its existential battle against the Russian occupiers. Putins war must be brought to a just end. Ukrainian security is vital to our own.  \n\n\n\nLet’s come together for a few keynote remarks\, music\, and a taste of the Baltics! \n\n\n\nHead suve!!!
